New on the 'Net: A Round-up of Free Web Resources

To survive in a technology rich educational environment, teachers need tools – lots and lots of technology tools: tools to create video animations, edit and modify sound sources, convert files from one format to another, communicate and share with colleagues and that's just the beginning. While needs are limitless, budgets are not which is why this session will focus on free, readily accessible, web based tools, utilities and resources of use to all teachers.

John Goldsmith is an online educator with the Fraser Valley Distance Education School (FVDES) where he teaches humanities and business related courses. John has been an online educator for more then 15 years and was an active computer and Internet user from many years before that.  He has presented numerous workshop and in-serve sessions at local, regional and province wide events for groups such as LearnNow BC, BCSSTA, BCTLA & CUEBC.

 

In his spare time, John writes a technology column for the BC Teacher Librarian’s Association and maintains the web site and e-mail lists for the BC Social Studies Teacher's Association and writes a online technology blog called “DE Tools” (http://www.detools.ca)
