Some NXT basics for New Users

“This workshop is for teachers that have newly purchased the Lego NXT Education Package or would like to purchase one soon. I recommend you bring a laptop and USB, if you have the Lego NXT please bring it and we will spend some time sharing and working on them.”

Throughout my travels I have encountered many Electronic and Robotic platforms that offer hands on skill development for youth. With the dramatic drop in consumer electronic prices during the last 10 year Robotics in the classroom has become more and more viable.

For the middle school level I am working and exploring with the limitless possibilities of the Lego NXT. It is affordable, durable, and easy to use. The ability of the NXT to promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness is the key to connecting to learning outcomes that meet the needs of unimagined careers.
