Digital Storytelling with Photostory3 |
|
|
Digital storytelling (DST) gives students an opportunity to express themselves in story form, but not in a traditional written manner, allowing students to present their learning in a unique audio-visual medium, combining text, photos, narration and music. Student understanding of story structure, connective imagery and verbal expression are just a few of the learning outcomes emphasized through DST. This workshop will cover DST using Microsoft's Photostory3 program. Participants will be shown how to use the basic software, as well as some of its more interesting features. Examples of student work using Photostory3, as well as copies of project outlines and tutorials, will be discussed and available as handouts or emailed documents. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop loaded with Photostory3 in order to be fully engaged in the workshop: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/PhotoStory/default.mspx
