With the emergence of new forms of ICT and multi-media, more demands are being made on the professional staff to acquire skills and abilities that respond to the implementation of ICT in schools. The continuous research in the field of educational technology highlights the changing role of teachers in the information age as they have the important responsibility of guiding and helping students sort and order information critically, which will then be transformed to useful and meaningful knowledge. This 90 minute session will introduce the use of interactive whiteboards (Smartboard) in teaching, and explore its potential through a variety of examples, in motivating diverse learners and helping them to better understand and retain the information they receive in class.
