Technology in the Early Years, JK - Gr3

This session will outline activities that can support most curriculum areas in a multi-disciplinary approach, using commercial software, as well as material that is freely available. There will be a focus on student use of digital cameras, with a quick look at creative storytelling. After examining data collection, graphing and branching databases there'll be a brief overview of online materials, including web2.0 tools. Finally there will be a short summary of internet safety and the responsible use of technology.

Paul teaches Grade 2 at Collingwood School, West Vancouver, and is also responsible for technology integration JK - Gr5. He's taught 13 years in Canada, and 15 years in the UK, all at the Primary level. He's just completed the M.Ed.Tech at UBC. During most of his career he's been involved with technology, and he's passionate about using it to support the curriculum. Above all, technology should be fun!
